Explore Ristorante Mimmi - Mimmi B&b

Tucked away on Via Pietro da Cortona in the charming village of Mercatale, Ristorante Mimmi - Mimmi B&b offers a quintessential Tuscan dining experience that feels both intimate and authentic. From the moment you arrive, the welcoming staff make you feel like a guest in their home, setting the tone for a meal that’s as much about warmth as it is about flavor. The restaurant doesn’t rely on a printed menu; instead, diners are treated to a carefully curated sequence of dishes that showcase fresh, locally sourced ingredients. Appetizers often include delicate bruschetta, an assortment of hams, and local cheeses paired with sweet melon, all of which highlight the region’s simple yet flavorful produce.

The pasta offerings are a standout, with each dish prepared in-house and presented in thoughtful portions that allow you to savor multiple varieties without feeling overwhelmed. Options like truffle tagliatelle, lasagna, and stuffed cannelloni showcase traditional techniques and rich, layered flavors, while accompanying vegetable sides often come straight from the garden. Beyond pasta, the meat courses are equally impressive, featuring grilled selections cooked to perfection and paired with seasonal vegetables.

Desserts at Ristorante Mimmi are a final indulgence, with classics such as tiramisu and caramel panna cotta providing a sweet, satisfying finish to the multi-course experience. The meal is complemented by generous servings of local wine, often served in a jug, emphasizing the convivial, family-style atmosphere that defines the restaurant. While the experience is priced around 40 euros per person, the portions are thoughtfully balanced, and the quality of ingredients and preparation more than justify the cost. A practical note for visitors: the restaurant operates on a cash-only basis, reflecting its homey, no-frills approach.

For anyone seeking an authentic taste of Tuscany in a setting that blends rustic charm with attentive hospitality, Ristorante Mimmi - Mimmi B&b provides a memorable and flavorful journey through regional cuisine, from fresh garden vegetables to house-made pasta and traditional desserts.

We had a fantastic ‘traditional’ meal. No menu, they just brought out dishes - all locally grown ingredients. Is a beautiful dining room and wonderful service. A proper authentic experience. Highly recommended

Can't recommend this place enough! All the food is freshly cooked and made with stuff from their own garden! Staff are so friendly and welcoming, they even accommodated for gluten free which is hard to find in Italy! Five stars

Review is about the dinner - didn’t stay at the B&B. First of all it’s CASH ONLY. Just a fyi. Basically they will serve you various courses for about 40€ a head. All the food was clearly fresh and excellently prepared. We had various appetizers, 4 different pastas, 3 different meats and two different desserts

Very nice atmosphere and food. Very welcoming host. It would have been 5 stars but the fact that you get your dinner with no menu or prices is a bit of a problem.

A hidden gem, definitely worth a visit. No menu as such or price list but the food was lovely, homemade pasta and vegetables from the garden. We were served bruschetta, hams, cheese with melon, followed by a sensible sized portion of lasenga, truffle tagliatelle and cannelloni, followed by grilled meats and vegetables, finished with terimasu or caramel pannacotta washed down with a jug of wine.

I’ve been coming here since I was a small child and have fond memories of Mimmis! Returning after 15 years was a joy. A classic trattoria with no menu. They do cater for vegetarians but the vegetarian dishes weren’t as strong as the rest of the dishes. The service was warm and friendly and the decor is stunning!

Lovely family run restaurant, no menu as such, we were served bruschetta, followed by prosciutto, salami etc, then a variety of pastas, meat and finally a gorgeous tiramisu, washed down with a jug of wine. Will definitely go back next time we're here. If you're in the area, it's well worth a visit.

First night in Tuscany (just) and our first meal. No one else there when we arrived, so wasn't sure we would get served, but had an excellent four course meal. Prosciutto, local cheeses and melon, a variety of pastas, a meat dish followed by tiramisu. Just the right sized portions and great flavours. Staff very friendly and welcoming. 40 euros per head.
